Brothers Fire & Security Selected for Minnesota State Contract

We are thrilled to announce that Brothers Fire & Security has been awarded by the State of Minnesota to provide Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler supplies to State Agencies and CPV members. We understand how important it is for your buildings and complexes—and their inhabitants—to remain safe at all times; this newest development allows us to offer an even greater level of assurance in doing just that at a lower cost. President of Brothers Fire & Security Stephen Cieslukowski released this message after learning of the contract; "We are pleased to announce that Brothers Fire & Security has been awarded by the State of Minnesota a contract to supply Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler services to State Agencies and CPV members. This selection reflects our continued dedication to protecting our communities and allows us to provide greater savings across the markets we serve."  

Commencing Mar 1, 2023-Feb 29, 2027, Brothers Fire & Security will serve as a Minnesota Licensed Fire Protection Contractor for category A-Fire Alarms and Category B-Fire Suppression. This means that select State Agencies and CPV members will receive a negotiated rate when trusting Brothers Fire and Security to fulfill their fire alarm and sprinkler needs.

Minnesota Fire and Security Contractor Accreditation—What Does it Mean?

There are several qualifying factors to become licensed and selected as a Minnesota Fire Protection Contractor. Brother’s upholds these requirements by:

• Having a managing employee (ME) ensure all work adheres to adopted best practices, standards, and fire protection guidelines.
• Having the managing employee or an accredited journeyman sprinkler fitter perform fire protection-related tasks
  Ensuring fire protection system designs are performed by personnel of a Minnesota-accredited fire protection contractor.
• Maintaining and presenting the relevant permits for installation and modification works.
• Having liability insurance above $250,0000/person, $500,000/occurrence, plus $100,000 property damage.
• Maintaining a $30,000 performance bond for fire protection contractors with the SFMD.
• Paying the State of Minnesota a surcharge. (0.2% of project cost for all permits granted through the local communities which conduct protection plan reviews on their own.)
• Paying all License fees.
